This weekend on MY TUBE

Friday night is usually a wasteland of television...but being that its still the May sweeps the networks' usual superfund site of Friday night viewing has a coupla things worthy of mention. First of all- Tonite is the debut of NATIONAL BINGO NIGHT. Yes, America- Since its only fitting that the Canadians have Hockey Night in Canada where the entire nation watches the national sport- we have NATIONAL BINGO NIGHT where the entire nation can gather around the television, take out our collective dentures, put on some fresh Depends and wait for the resonating sounds of B-2 or O-69. Its on ABC- probably will be the number one show of the night for the over 70 crowd.
Speaking of blue hair and blue blockers- tonite we also celebrate the most trusted man there was on TV news. Uncle Walter helped guide America through the Kennedy assassinations, space exploration, Viet Nam, Watergate, and- oh yeah- we can't forget YOU ARE THERE! Walter Cronkite At 90 is on CBS. This is on the heals of CBS celebrating Bob Barker (at 80) and his impending retirement. What's next you ask? Simple-... National Bingo Night.

Also this weekend- Sci-Fi has a HEROES Marathon. Its a chance to catch up on 21 hours worth of episodes of the hit sci-fi drama. That airs on Saturday. Peter gets a chance at romance with Molly Ringwald on FAMILY GUY (FOX SUNDAY 9pm).

Steve Van Zant says that the only way there could be a SOPRANOS movie is if its a prequel. The reason, he says, is because of the violence that takes place on the final three episodes of the show. Sunday night is the third to last episode on HBO... so that must mean at least another major character gets whacked. I've got Paulie in my pool...howabout you? We'll find out at 9pm.

Finally- Elvis Costello is the musical guest on LETTERMAN tonite.
